Huawei recently unveiled their latest premium flagship smartphone, the P60 Pro. While Huawei devices are unfortunately limited in some markets without Google Play services, the P60 Pro promises impressive specs and cameras that could rival top phones from Samsung and Apple.

Display and Design

The P60 Pro sports a large 6.67-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1220 x 2700 and a 120Hz refresh rate. This provides vivid colors and buttery smooth scrolling. The display also gets very bright, reaching over 1135 nits of peak brightness according to tests.

The phone has a rectangular camera bump on the back that houses its triple camera array. It has a slim profile at just 8.3mm thick and weights a reasonable 200g. The body is IP68 rated for dust and water resistance as well.

Hardware and Performance 

Under the hood, the P60 Pro packs the powerful Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 4G chipset along with up to 12GB of RAM for blazing fast performance. In benchmarks, it scored over 1 million on AnTuTu which is on par with other Android flagships. Gaming and demanding tasks should be a breeze.

It comes with up to 512GB of storage. While it lacks expandable storage, 512GB should be more than enough for most users. Other specs include a 4815mAh battery with 66W fast charging and 50W wireless charging.

Incredible Camera Setup

The main highlight is undoubtedly the triple rear camera system. It consists of a massive 50MP main camera with OIS, a 13MP ultra-wide, and an 8MP periscope telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom.

Early samples show it can take incredibly detailed photos with great dynamic range even in challenging light. The 5x zoom is very clear and video recording goes up to 4K at 60fps. The 13MP front camera is also capable. Overall, it may have one of the best camera experiences on any phone currently.

Initial Impressions

While it misses out on 5G and certain apps/services due to lack of Google services, the Huawei P60 Pro seems like an enticing option if you prioritize camera quality and performance above all else. It undercuts rivals in price too. The impressive hardware coupled with Leica-tuned cameras make it a viable choice for mobile photography enthusiasts if it launches in their markets. However, availability remains a major concern for this Huawei flagship globally.
