Oppo A11s – An Affordable Mid-Range Smartphone

The Oppo A11s was announced in December 2021 as a budget-friendly mid-range smartphone from Chinese manufacturer Oppo. Based on the specs and features, it is clear Oppo aimed to provide a smartphone that offers good performance at an affordable price point.

Design and Display
The Oppo A11s has a 6.5-inch LCD screen with HD+ resolution of 720×1600 pixels. This provides decent quality for the price but is not as sharp as higher-end phones. The screen also supports a 90Hz refresh rate which makes animations and scrolling appear smoother. At 163.9 x 75.1 x 8.4 mm, it is a compact size for a large screen phone and only weighs 186g which makes it comfortable to hold.

Hardware and Performance
Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 chipset, which was a fairly low-mid range processor when the phone was released. It comes with either 4GB or 8GB of RAM depending on storage variant. While not a powerhouse, for basic tasks like social media, browsing and light gaming it should handle well. Storage options are 64GB or 128GB with support for microSD expansion.

Cameras
On the rear is a triple camera setup comprised of a 13MP main, 2MP macro and 2MP depth sensor. This allows for basic camera features like portrait mode effects. Video recording maxes out at 1080p30fps. For selfies, there is an 8MP front camera. Image quality is decent for the price point but not on par with more expensive phones.

Battery and Software
A large 5000mAh battery powers the Oppo A11s which Oppo claims can provide up to 2 days of usage on a single charge. This large capacity means it should have very good battery life. It runs on Android 10 with Oppo’s ColorOS launcher on top.

Overall for its affordable price of around 290,000 Naira, the Oppo A11s provides capable basic performance with a large screen and battery for everyday use. While not a technical powerhouse, it offers good value for budget-conscious users.
