Huawei Nova 10 Youth – An Affordable Option Without 5G

Huawei recently launched the Nova 10 Youth smartphone, targeted at younger consumers on a budget. The Nova 10 Youth comes with some very capable hardware for the price, including a large 6.78-inch display, a 108MP main camera, and fast 66W charging.

However, there are some compromises made to hit the more affordable price point. Most notably, the Nova 10 Youth lacks 5G connectivity, which is quickly becoming a standard even on mid-range devices. It only supports 4G LTE networks. The processor, a Snapdragon 680G, is also quite low-end and won’t provide the best performance.

At around 450,000 Naira, the Huawei Nova 10 Youth represents a very affordable option for those on a budget. However, the lack of 5G and mid-range processor may see it struggling in longevity. For a similar price, competitors like Realme and Xiaomi offer 5G and more powerful chipsets. So potential buyers will need to weigh up future-proofing versus immediate cost-savings.

In summary, while the Nova 10 Youth ticks some boxes on paper, the omission of 5G means it may not stand the test of time very well. But for some users, the excellent 108MP camera and low price could make it worthwhile despite those drawbacks. Just don’t expect future-proof performance.
