Introduction:

Launched back in 2018, the Hot 6 aimed to deliver affordable smartphone essentials. However, its low-end specs showed limitations even when new.

Design:

The 6-inch 18:9 display helped maximize screen real estate in a slim 8mm body. Build quality felt average for the cost.

Hardware:

Powered by a quad-core 1.3GHz chipset and just 1/2GB RAM, the Hot 6 struggled with basic multitasking. Storage was limited too.

Display:

Image quality on the 720×1440 LCD was average at best. Outdoor visibility proved challenging in direct sunlight.

Cameras:

The 13MP rear camera captured passable shots while selfies from the 8MP front sensor were adequate.

Battery:

At 4000mAh capacity, battery life lasted a normal workday with light use which was fair in 2018.

While reasonably priced back then, the Hot 6’s very weak specs compromised usability even when new. Better avoided in favor of models with higher performance potential. It aimed low but still offered too little for a comfortable experience.
