Infinix is known for offering feature-packed Android phones at affordable prices, and the Infinix Smart 5 Pro looks to continue that trend. Announced in November 2021, the Smart 5 Pro tries to pack in just about everything you could want in a phone while keeping the cost low.
Starting with the display, the Smart 5 Pro has a 6.52-inch IPS LCD screen with HD+ resolution. The screen size is on the larger side for a budget phone, providing plenty of real estate for watching videos or mobile gaming. The screen should be decently bright too at its rated 500 nits peak brightness.
Under the hood, the Smart 5 Pro is powered by the Unisoc SC9863A chipset paired with 2GB of RAM. This is an entry-level processor and likely won’t win any speed tests, but should handle basic tasks just fine. You get 32GB of built-in storage which is modest, but the microSD card slot allows for easy expansion.
The dual rear camera system includes a 13MP main sensor and a secondary QVGA depth-sensing lens. Videos can be recorded at 1440p resolution at 30 frames per second. Selfies are handled by an 8MP front-facing camera.
A highlight of the Smart 5 Pro is certainly its massive 6000mAh battery. This should provide fantastic all-day battery life and then some. The 10W charging speed isn’t anything special though. Other features include a rear fingerprint scanner, 3.5mm headphone jack, and MicroUSB charging port.
Priced around 150,000 Naira, the Infinix Smart 5 Pro seems like a capable option for those on a tight budget. The big screen, battery life, and expandable storage make it attractive for less demanding users. Some compromises had to be made with the low-powered chipset and low storage, but that’s to be expected at this price point. If you prioritize long battery life above else, the Smart 5 Pro could be a smart choice.
