The Nothing Phone (2a) Price in Nigeria is 670,000 Naira and this includes Lagos, Abuja, Kano, Rivers, Ogun, Oyo, Delta, Kaduna, Edo, Enugu, Port Harcourt, Ibadan, Benin, Owerri, Warri.

Nothing burst onto the smartphone scene in 2022 with their debut Phone (1) and intrigued many with their unique transparent design and promise of stock Android experience. Now in 2024 they’ve released the Phone (2a) as a mid-range sibling to last year’s flagship Phone (2).

Design and Build

The Phone (2a) keeps the attractive transparent rear panel and glyph interface lighting of its predecessors. It has a 6.7″ AMOLED display with slim bezels and a centered punch-hole cut-out. The plastic frame and back give it a lightweight 190g build. IP54 dust and water resistance means it can withstand the occasional splash or rain.

The translucent back shows off the internals with a nice glow from the LED lights. It comes in Black, White, Milk, and Blue colors to suit different tastes. Overall Nothing has delivered another eye-catching design at an affordable price point.

Hardware and Performance

Under the hood is a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro chip paired with 8 or 12GB of RAM. This provides smooth general usage and decent gaming performance. Storage options include 128 or 256GB with no microSD card expansion.

Battery life is good thanks to the 5000mAh cell and 45W fast charging that can power it from 0-50% in just 23 minutes according to Nothing. Rounding out the specs are dual 50MP rear cameras, a 32MP selfie cam, dual speakers, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Performance benchmarks put it on par with other mid-range competitors like the Realme 9 Pro and it should handle everyday tasks without issue. Gaming and multitasking may show some slowdown compared to flagships though.

Software

The Phone (2a) launches with Android 14 and Nothing’s refined OS skin on top. It promises a clean interface with customizable Glyph lighting effects. Nothing also assures 3 years of OS upgrades and 4 years of security updates keeping it current.

With no bloatware or pre-installed duplicate apps, the software experience should be smooth and close to stock Android. This is one of the Phone (2a)’s major draws aside from its edgy design.

Conclusion

Priced around the 670,000 Naira, the Nothing Phone (2a) seems like a compelling mid-range option. It carries forward the innovative transparent aesthetic and promises timely updates. Performance may not beat top-tier phones but should satisfy casual users on a budget. Nothing has certainly delivered an attention-grabbing package at this price and established their brand in a short time. The Phone (2a) shows they can succeed at all levels of the market.
