Xiaomi Poco C65 – A Budget-Friendly Smartphone With Solid Specs
The Xiaomi Poco C65 was recently released in November 2023 as part of Xiaomi’s Poco budget smartphone lineup. Let’s take a closer look at what this phone has to offer.
Design and Display
The Poco C65 features a plastic body construction that weighs 192g and is 8.1mm thick. It has a 6.74-inch LCD display with a resolution of 720×1600 and a 90Hz refresh rate. The display provides good viewing angles and gets bright enough at 600 nits. A Corning Gorilla Glass layer provides protection from scratches.
Overall, the design and display are straightforward but get the job done for a budget phone. The 90Hz refresh rate is a nice addition that provides smoother scrolling compared to standard 60Hz displays.
Hardware and Performance
Under the hood is a MediaTek Helio G85 processor along with 4GB, 6GB or 8GB of RAM depending on the configuration. Storage options include 128GB or 256GB.
Benchmark scores according to GSM Arena showed solid performance that should handle daily tasks without issues. The Helio G85 chipset paired with 6GB RAM provides enough power for basic smartphone use like social media, browsing, mobile games, etc.
The sizable 5000mAh battery supports 18W fast charging and is rated to last over 11 hours of active use according to tests. This large battery helps the Poco C65 last through the day without needing to charge.
Cameras
The rear camera system consists of a 50MP main camera alongside a 2MP macro lens. Selfies are handled by an 8MP front camera. Video recording maxes out at 1080p resolution for both front and back cameras.
While not the highest specs, the cameras should be adequate for casual photos and videos in good lighting conditions. Low-light photography may be limited.
Software and Other Features
The Poco C65 runs Android 13 out of the box with MIUI 14 on top. Additional features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, 3.5mm headphone jack, USB-C, NFC, Bluetooth 5.3 and dual-SIM support.
Pricing starts around175,100 depending on configuration, making it an affordable option for casual users on a budget.
