Xiaomi Redmi K60 Ultra – A Flagship Killer?
Xiaomi recently launched the Redmi K60 Ultra, the latest addition to its popular K-series of smartphones. After going through the specifications on GSMArena, this phone seems poised to be a true flagship killer.
The Redmi K60 Ultra has a solid build quality with a metal and glass construction. It sports a large 6.67-inch OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. The screen can get up to 2600 nits bright, making it very visible even under direct sunlight. It is IP68 rated for dust and water resistance as well. At 204 grams, it has a decent weight without feeling too heavy.
Under the hood, the K60 Ultra packs the latest MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ chipset built on a 4nm process. This is one of the most powerful mobile platforms currently available and provides blazing fast performance. It comes with up to 24GB LPDDR5X RAM as well. Combined with UFS 4.0 storage, the overall user experience is extremely smooth and snappy. Gaming performance should be top-notch as well thanks to the Immortalis G715 MC11 GPU.
In the camera department, the K60 Ultra uses a triple rear camera setup that is co-engineered with Leica. The main sensor is a large 50MP with OIS support. An 8MP ultra-wide and 2MP macro complete the setup. Video recording goes up to 8K at 24fps. For selfies, there is a 20MP front camera. Early samples indicate the cameras perform very well in various lighting conditions.
Monster 120W Fast Charging
Keeping the lights on is a beefy 5000mAh battery which should provide over a day of use on a single charge. However, the big highlight is 120W wired fast charging that can fill the battery from empty to full in just 19 minutes! This is blazing quick and among the fastest on any phone currently.
Priced starting from around 600,000 Naira, the Redmi K60 Ultra seems like incredible value for what it offers. With flagship-level specs and features like 120W charging at a mid-range cost, it could certainly give many high-end rivals a run for their money. I’ll be looking forward to doing a full review when the phone is available more widely.
